Once again the number attending (52) was a little disapppointing, and again those who did not attend missed a very entertaining evening. the feedback we received on the event was all excellent. It's worth mentioning once again that our St Andrew's nights are always very enjoyable. Why not put next year's date, 29 November 2025, in your diary, Here are some more pictures of the evening.
Chairman for the Evening - President George McCaughey
Toast to Scotland - Fergus McLellan
Committe member Fergus McLellan proposed the Toast to Scotland this year. Fergus's toast was both interesting and entertaining as always.
Toast to Oor Toon - Bryan Weir
Another committee member, Bryan Weir, proposed the toast to "Oor Toon". The Oor Toon toast is an established tradition at the Alexandria Burns Club St.Andrew's night. As the creator of the Vale of Leven History website and Facebook page, Bryan is well qualified to talk of Oor Toon, but on this occasion the toast was more humourous and informal.
Frank Kelly - Sangs and Clatter
Club member Frank Kelly has entertained many times in the past. A great musician and singer once more he did not disappoint.Frank's humourous contributions were also very much appreciated by the audience.
Jack Cassidy - Music and Song
Jack Cassidy appeared for the first time this year. Jack was introduced by Tom Brown, through his association with the Loch Lomond Folk Club. Jack proved to be an excellent singer and guitarist. We most definitely look forward to see him again in the near future.
Jim O'Hare - Harmonica
St Andrew's night ever present and evergreen Jim O'Hare was once again in great form delivering his selection of Scottish tunes on his harmonica.
Tom Brown - Reading
Vice President Tom Brown, filling the slot normally taken by Bob Wylie, delivered a couple of readings, These were again well selected and very funny.
