St Andrews Night Celebration 2005

The Club's Annual St Andrews Night Dinner took
place on Friday 25 November 2005 in the function suite of Vale of Leven Lawn Bowls
Club. A capacity audience of 108 members and guests was welcomed by our President
Ian Collins who said grace before an excellent meal was served by Venue Caterers
of Alexandria.
Ian Collins announced the appointment of Harry Summers as Vice President of
the Club. He also appealed for volunteers to join the committee and to augment
the speakers available to the Club.
The Toast to Scotland was proposed by Fergus McLellan and the Toast to our
Toon by Harry Summers.
Club Member Andy Gaffney made his debut signing a variety of Scottish songs
including The Braes o' Bon'ill, Sangs and Clatter were given by Eddie Gaughan.
As always at our St Andrews Night the Bard of the Vale Duncan McLean read
a couple of poems with a local interest.
All the artists were well received by an appreciative audience and our President
Ian Collins chaired the evening in his inimitable style.
