Our annual St Andrew's night was held in the Vale of Leven Bowling Club on Friday 29 November with President Ian Embelton in the chair and just short of 80 guests and artistes.
Officials and Artistes
Tom Brown (Secretary), Jim O'Hare, Douglas Lyle, Willie McDonald, President Ian Embelton, John McKellar, John McDonald, Bob Wylie and John McKenzie
Robert Mills and his team at Venue Caterers once again seved the meal to get the evening under way. After the meal we continued with the main toast, an excellent Toast to Scotland, delivered by John McKenzie.

Our musicians for the evening were the McDonald Brothers, who have entertained us on several occasions in the past at St Andrew''s nights and Burns Suppers. As always their contribution was much appreciated during their two spots.

Next up was newcomer John McKellar, who toasted OorToon. the Vale of Leven in an entertaining way.

Once again Bob Wyllie filled his regular spot with his anecdotal and humourous Scottish poems. Bob sources these modern rhymes for us each year from the Internet and they are always well received by the audience.
To provide the evening's "Clatter" we had another new face in Dougie Lyle, who travelled all the way from Rothesay on the Isle of Bute to be with us. I am sure that all of the guests would agree that his journey was well worthwhile. Dougie was hilariously funny in his two spots during the evening.
The ever popular Jim O'Hare was next up with his harmonica and a great selection of Scottish and other tunes. Jim entertained us again later in the evening.
Once again we had an enjoyable evening in the company of good friends. Thanks to all who entertained us and to those who organised the event and helped make it a success. Thanks also to Tommy Gilmour for the photographs.
