ALEXANDRIA BURNS CLUB
St Andrews Night Celebration 26th November 2021

Having been cancelled due to the pandemic in 2020 the 2021 St Andrew's night went ahead in the Vale of Leven Bowling Club on Friday 26 November with President Walter Sneddon in the chair. Understandably the number attending was a little down on previous years but, given the circumstances it was a very healthy attendance.

Our musicians this year were the Fifty Fourths, who entertained us with their selection of Scots Folk Music.

Fergus McLellan then demonstrated his knowledge of the Vale of Leven and the Vale of Leven FC with his toast to OorToon. Once again this was very well received.

Bob Wylie once again filled his regular spot with his humourous Scottish poems and tales. Bob's contribution is always appreciated.

Frank Kelly is always a popular performer for our mirth and music spot. As well as demonstrating his musical and vocal abilities Frank once again had the audience in fits of laughter.

Jim O'Hare was next up with his harmonica and a great selection of Scottish and other tunes. Jim entertained us again later in the evening.

We had an enjoyable evening in the company of good friends and, given the restrictions resulting from the pandemic it was really nice to be able to have this get together. Thanks to all who entertained us and to those who organised the event and helped make it a success. Thanks also to Tommy Gilmour for the photographs.
